All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Release Date | What’s Confirmed

It has been more than four and a half years since the Hyosan High outbreak ended on a rooftop cliffhanger. If you have searched for the All of Us Are Dead season 2 release date lately, you have probably seen three different answers: late 2026, “early 2027” and a precise date that turns out to come from a fan account. Some of those claims are real reporting. Others are guesses repeated until they sound official.

This guide separates the two. It checks every claim against Netflix’s own announcements, its public Top 10 data and the production reports that first broke each piece of news. By the end you will know exactly what Netflix has said, what is still only reported, and when it makes sense to start checking for a premiere date.

As of October 6, 2026, Netflix has not announced a release date for All of Us Are Dead season 2. Filming wrapped in February 2026 and the season is in post-production. Early 2027 is the most widely reported window, but it is a media estimate, not a Netflix confirmation.

All of Us Are Dead season 2 release date: where things stand

Netflix’s latest official word on the series is its Tudum production announcement dated July 22, 2025. That article confirmed the cast, the directors and the new Seoul setting. It ended by asking fans to “stay tuned” and gave no release window, no month and no year. Netflix has published nothing newer on a premiere date since then.

The “early 2027” window comes from entertainment media. Livemint reported on October 5, 2026 that recent coverage, including The Week, expects the season around January or February 2027, and it described that as an expected window rather than a confirmed date. What’s on Netflix reached a similar view in February 2026, noting that the show was missing from Netflix’s 2026 Korean slate.

All of Us Are Dead season 2: confirmed vs reported

The table sorts every common claim by where it comes from. “Confirmed” means Netflix said it on Tudum, its title page or its public Top 10 data. “Reported” means media or cast social posts said it, and Netflix has not repeated it. Treat anything in the reported column as provisional until Netflix announces a date.

The episode count deserves a note. Netflix’s Tudum article does not give one, and we could not find “eight episodes” in any Netflix release. It may well be right, but it belongs in the reported column for now.

How season 2 got here: the full timeline

The long gap makes more sense once you line up the dates. Each date below is the day the news first appeared, not the day a later article repeated it.

  • January 28, 2022 — Season 1 premieres worldwide on Netflix.
  • June 7, 2022 (Korea time) — Netflix Korea posts a renewal clip with Yoon Chan-young, Park Ji-hu, Cho Yi-hyun and Lomon. In US time zones this landed on June 6.
  • 2023 to mid-2025 — No production news. What’s on Netflix reported that filming was once projected for 2024 before slipping to 2025.
  • July 22, 2025 — Netflix announces on Tudum that season 2 is in production and shares a table-read clip. Korean outlets carried the news on July 23, Korea time.
  • January 17 and 18, 2026 — Filming at the Gangwon Provincial Government Building, according to a provincial announcement reported by What’s on Netflix.
  • February 2026 — Cast members post wrap photos. Cho Yi-hyun wrapped on February 4 and Park Ji-hu on February 18, with zombie extras finishing on February 14.
  • October 2026 — The season is in post-production. No release date yet.

Two details stand out. First, Netflix itself never issued a wrap announcement; the February dates come from the actors’ own social posts. Second, more than three years passed between renewal and the first day of filming, so the slow pace is not new to this season.

Why early 2027 is the most likely window

No one outside Netflix knows the date, but the public facts point in one direction. What’s on Netflix’s February 19, 2026 wrap report gave two reasons for expecting 2027. The series was not part of Netflix’s initial Korean 2026 lineup, and a zombie show needs heavy visual effects work after the cameras stop.

A January or February 2027 premiere would mean roughly eleven to twelve months of post-production. That is a long stretch, and it matches the visual effects point What’s on Netflix raised. A premiere date usually comes with a teaser trailer, so a first trailer is the clearest signal that the wait is nearly over.

What about the December 2026 rumor?

The December 2026 rumor has never had a named source. What’s on Netflix said in January 2026 that there was no evidence for it, and Netflix still had not named a date in early October. We will update this page when Netflix posts an official date.

All of Us Are Dead season 2 cast: who returns and who is new

Netflix confirmed four returning survivors in the July 2025 Tudum article. Each actor plays the same role as in season 1.

  • Park Ji-hu as Nam On-jo, now a university student in Seoul.
  • Yoon Chan-young as Lee Cheong-san.
  • Cho Yi-hyun as Choi Nam-ra.
  • Lomon as Lee Su-hyeok.

Four new cast members join them: Lee Min-jae (Weak Hero: Class 2) as Yong Ma-ru, Kim Si-eun (Squid Game season 2) as So Ju-ran and Yoon Ga-i as Lee Jong-ah, all playing On-jo’s new university friends. Roh Jae-won (Squid Game seasons 2 and 3) plays Han Doo-seok, a team leader inside the National Intelligence Service. Some news sites spell the name “Han Du-seok”, but Netflix’s own spelling is Han Doo-seok.

Who is behind the camera

Netflix credits Lee JQ and Kim Nam-su as directors, with Chun Sung-il back as writer. Lee JQ is the same director often romanized as Lee Jae-kyoo in Korean coverage; Netflix uses Lee JQ in English, and Tudum introduces him as the director of Daily Dose of Sunshine. Chun Sung-il’s recent credits include King the Land. The original story comes from Joo Dong-geun’s webtoon, known in Korean as Now at Our School.

What season 2 is about, and a spoiler warning

Spoiler warning: the next paragraph discusses the ending of season 1.

Season 1 ends with On-jo, Su-hyeok and a few classmates rescued, while Nam-ra stays behind as a “hambie”, infected but still partly human. In the final scene On-jo spots Nam-ra on the school rooftop. Cheong-san’s fate is left unclear, and his return in season 2 is one of the biggest open questions Netflix has answered by confirming Yoon Chan-young.

According to Netflix, season 2 opens with On-jo studying in Seoul and still haunted by what she lost. A new outbreak hits the city and pulls her and her new friends into a fight to survive. Cheong-san, Nam-ra and Su-hyeok are each dealing with how the first outbreak changed their lives, and the intelligence service enters the story through Han Doo-seok. Netflix has not released a trailer, so anything beyond this setup is speculation.

How big was season 1? The official numbers

Netflix’s public data shows why the company renewed the show. In its official Top 10 records, season 1 spent five straight weeks at No. 1 on the global non-English TV chart, from the week ending January 30 to the week ending February 27, 2022. It stayed in that chart for 11 weeks.

Its best single week, ending February 6, 2022, logged 236.23 million viewing hours. Its first four weekly charts add up to 536.39 million hours, and the first of those weeks covered only three days. Netflix’s older 28-day ranking, cited in June 2022 renewal coverage, put the figure at 560.78 million hours. Netflix says the show reached the Top 10 in more than 90 countries, and its weekly country data lists the title in 94 country charts.

What to do while you wait for season 2

The simplest step is to open the season 1 title page in your Netflix app and add it to My List. New seasons of a Netflix series normally appear on the existing title page, so this is the easiest place to watch for it. A rewatch also helps: season 2 picks up years later, and the Tudum article makes clear that the survivors’ trauma drives the new story.

If you want something new in the meantime, we track other long Netflix waits too. Our KPop Demon Hunters 2 release date guide uses the same confirmed-versus-reported approach for another long Netflix wait.
