Byeon Woo-seok walked onstage as Sung Jin-woo for the first time on October 24, and a lot of people who had never seen the anime started asking the same thing. Where do I actually watch Solo Leveling before Netflix’s version shows up? The answer depends on which part of the story you want and which country you live in. A quick search mostly turns up pirate mirrors and pages from 2024.
This guide to where to watch Solo Leveling uses only official sources: Crunchyroll’s own announcements, the Japanese anime site run by Aniplex, Netflix’s newsroom and the comic publishers’ series pages. It covers both anime seasons, the ReAwakening movie, the English webtoon and what is confirmed so far about the live-action show. Everything was checked on October 26, 2026.
In the Americas, Europe, Oceania, India and the Middle East, both anime seasons stream on Crunchyroll with subtitles and an English dub. The ReAwakening film was a theater-only release with no announced streaming date. The webtoon is officially in English on Tapas and Tappytoon. Netflix’s live-action series has no release date yet.

Where to watch Solo Leveling season 1 and season 2
Crunchyroll is the home of the anime in most of the world. Season 1 premiered there on January 6, 2024 and ran 12 episodes, ending with episode 12, “Arise,” on March 30. Season 2, Arise from the Shadow, picked up the numbering with episode 13 on January 4, 2025 and closed with episode 25 in March 2025. Both seasons sit on the same Crunchyroll series page, so you won’t need to hunt for a separate Season 2 listing.
Region is the part that trips people up. Crunchyroll’s Season 2 launch guide lists its territories as North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS and India. Most of East and Southeast Asia is not on that list. In Japan, the official anime site gave Prime Video the first stream of Season 2, followed by Netflix, Hulu, U-NEXT, ABEMA, Disney+ and more than a dozen other Japanese services.

Can you watch Solo Leveling for free, legally?
When we checked Crunchyroll’s site on October 26, 2026, it advertised a 7-Day Free Trial of Premium. That is enough time for all 25 episodes if you clear a weekend for it. Trial length and who qualifies can vary by country, so read the offer on the sign-up screen before you enter card details. Cancel before day seven if you don’t plan to stay.
We could not find a Crunchyroll statement confirming a permanent free, ad-supported way to watch the show in 2026. Sites promising every episode free with no account are not licensed. They also sit next to the kind of pop-up ads nobody wants on a phone. The webtoon is the real free option, and the next section explains how that works.
Solo Leveling dubbed: which languages you get
Crunchyroll’s English dub of Season 1 started on January 20, 2024, two weeks after the Japanese premiere. Aleks Le voices Sung Jinwoo, Michelle Rojas voices Cha Hae-in and Caitlin Glass directs the dub. The Season 2 dub launched on January 18, 2025, with Le, Rebecca Wang and SungWon Cho back in their roles. Crunchyroll also announced Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs of Season 1 in its Winter 2024 lineup, with actor Ali Fazal in the Hindi cast.
Other dub languages are handled by Crunchyroll’s regional teams, and the platform itself says schedules and dub languages can change. The fastest check is the audio menu inside the player for episode 1. If English is missing from that menu, check the season selector on the series page before assuming your region has no dub.

Where to read the Solo Leveling webtoon in English
There are two official English editions. Tapas lists Solo Leveling with 202 episodes and credits DUBU and DISCIPLES of REDICE STUDIO, Chugong and h-goon. Episode 1 is free, and later episodes are marked WUF, short for Wait Until Free, which opens locked episodes without spending Ink. Once unlocked, a WUF episode stays readable for 72 hours.
Tappytoon’s official edition carries its own English translation and has added the Epilogue. Tappytoon also offers wait-until-free on this title and hosts the sequel, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. For paper copies, Yen Press publishes 15 volumes, and volumes 14 and 15 collect the side stories. Pick one app and stay with it, since your unlocked episodes and progress don’t carry over between the two.
What order should you watch Solo Leveling in?
The order is short. The theatrical ReAwakening film was a recap of Season 1 plus the first two episodes of Season 2, so anyone who watches both seasons already has everything it showed.
- Season 1, episodes 1 to 12 (2024)
- Season 2, Arise from the Shadow, episodes 13 to 25 (2025)
- Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, the next anime chapter, in production as a theatrical film
- Netflix’s live-action series, which starts again from Sung Jin-woo’s E-rank days with a Korean cast
Fans waiting on a Season 3 announcement will notice the next step is not a TV season. Crunchyroll and Aniplex revealed Solo Leveling: Beyond the System at Anime Expo 2026, and the Japanese site posted it on July 4. It continues from where Season 2 ended, with A-1 Pictures animating again. No release date has been given, and no Season 3 TV series has been announced.
Solo Leveling live action: what Netflix has confirmed
Netflix confirmed the series on July 9, 2025, with Byeon Woo-seok as Sung Jin-woo. That announcement named Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, the duo behind Ashfall, as co-directors. Kakao Entertainment and SANAI PICTURES produce. Netflix also says the web novel and webtoon have drawn 14.3 billion cumulative views worldwide.
On October 6, 2026, the Netflix newsroom added five more names and brought in HAN Dong-wook, the director of The Worst of Evil, as a co-director. The post ends with “coming soon, only on Netflix” and gives no month or year. At the Netflix Janchi fan festival marking 10 years of Netflix in Korea, Byeon made his first official appearance in character. WION reports he appeared on October 24, and no teaser or premiere date came with it.
| Actor | Character | Who the character is, per Netflix |
|---|---|---|
| Byeon Woo-seok | Sung Jin-woo | E-rank Hunter, the lowest tier, who starts to level up after nearly dying |
| Han So-hee | Cha Hae-in | The only female S-rank Hunter, a biker who fights with a longsword |
| Kang You-seok | Yoo Jinho | C-rank Hunter and second son of the Yoojin Group family |
| Sung Joon | Woo Jinchul | A-rank Hunter on the Korean Hunters Association surveillance team |
| Lee Sung-min | Go Gunhee | Special appearance; retired Hunter and Association chairman |
| Jung Ji-hoon (Rain) | Baek Yoonho | Special appearance; S-rank head of the White Tiger Guild |
Some fan accounts and blogs float an episode count or a 2027 window. Netflix has published neither. Byeon told the festival crowd the team was still filming, according to the Korea Times, so a release date this year would be a surprise.
Before the Netflix series arrives
Finish both anime seasons inside the Crunchyroll trial window, then read past episode 25 on Tapas or Tappytoon if you can’t wait for the movie. We cover how Korean studios turned this webtoon into a global franchise in The Solo Leveling Blueprint. If you’re setting up streaming services for the K-dramas coming next, our service-by-service comparison shows which one carries what.
